Five Nights at Freddy's 3 [Review]

Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is the final installment in the trilogy that is Five Nights at Freddy's. I believe I am one of the few Youtubers who hasn't made a single video of me screaming and shouting at how "scary" this games are. While I didn't really like the first two instalments, this one was surprisingly fresh, thanks to many improvements that made the previous games more frustrating than intense.

STORY

I am going to skip this section pretty easily, because there isn't a real story to the game. Thirty years after the events of the previous two games, an amusement park has built an attraction based on the unsolved mysteries of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, including actual relics from the pizzeria. You play as the security guard, and you gotta stay five nights for five hours inside a small room trying to stay alive. There are multiple 8-bit sections and easter eggs that hardcore fans will enjoy more than a regular player.

GRAPHICS

Graphically, the game looks the same as the second installment, including smooth 60fps. There really isn't anything more.

GAMEPLAY

There are two main differences from the other two games. First of all, there is only one creepy-ass animatronic that hunts you down: Springtrap. He works a little bit like Slenderman, which means that you when you see him on the other side of the window or at your doorstep you must look at him

Second, the defense system: there isn't a battery anymore, as well as flashlights and doors. This time, you have an audio and ventilation system: you can play audio to scare away Springtrap or lock the vents that lead to different parts of the attraction to stop him. Meanwhile, the ghosts of the previous animatronics, Foxy, Chica, Freddy, BB and Puppet will scare you and disable the camera, audio or ventilation system, so you'll need to reboot them.

CHALLENGE

The game is more ambiguous this time around, and it isn't really real if you are actually achieving something while playing audio or checking the cameras, making the experience more thrilling than the other times, and this is probably why I enjoyed playing this game more.

REPLAYABILITY

Just like with the other games, there are custom nights and probably a lot of secrets to unlock.

Overall, this supposedly final chapter of the game was original and thrilling, more so than the others. The fact that it's also very cheap makes this a must-buy for everyone who enjoyes being scared by jumpscares. Otherwise, just watch someone play it on Youtube.
