Revenge: Rhobar's myth is a first-person game about wizardry developed and published by Polygon Art and is currently available on Steam Early Access. The game is in a state that is slightly above unplayable, and I wasn't able to go that far into the game.
STORY
You play as a guy that takes a job at a wizard academy. From the moment the game starts, you know you are in for a treat: the dialogue is incredibly cheesy and the story is really uninteresting. This is hardly the thing that you will like about this game
GRAPHICS
The game uses Unreal Engine 3, and it still manages to have poor performance and to look bad. The areas are huge, but empty, with NPCs that you can't interact with as well as some of them that stand in an idle position. It also crashed about ten times. Not that great.
GAMEPLAY
There are two modes: Story Mode and Free Roam.
In Story Mode I spent most of the time dealing with crashes, looking for rooms by following NPCs informations that were incorrect and following some guy around. In Free Roam, you explore the huge map looking for floating shields and other objects to collect. There should also be quests, races and actual magic in the game, but after 2 hours I didn't get there, and I couldn't deal with any other dumb problem that this game has.
CHALLENGE
Not going to count it just to be fair, since I experienced little to no gameplay. I'm feeling generous here.
SOUND
The voice acting is some of the worst I have heard in recent memory, either being too serious or too cheesy. The only good thing is the soundtrack by the great Kevin MacLeod.
REPLAYABILITY
29 Steam achievements (some of which no one has unlocked), as well as a Free Roam mode that will last you quite some time. If you actually find enjoyment running around picking up shields, that is.
This game is really broken. I will come back and play it again when it comes out of Early Access, hoping for it to be better. Right now, don't waste your time and money on it.
